Peter and the Red Pocket Handkerchief

 
 
 
In the Tale of Benjamin Bunny Peter loses his clothes after he is chased by Mr. McGregor.   He wraps himself in a Red Pocket Handkerchief.   Peter and Benjamin Bunny go for a walk and see Peter’s clothes on the scarecrow.  The adventure continues as Peter and Benjamin plan to get Peter’s clothes back.   
 
The Royal Albert Version of this figurine was produced in two versions.
 
First Version – First Variation:  This was modelled by Martyn Alcock and is in the small size ( 12.3 cm).  Peter is wearing a light blue jacket with yellow buttons whereas in the Beswick Limited edition (Second Variation) he is wearing a dark blue jacket with gold buttons.
 
Royal Albert produced this figurine from 1991 to 1998. It has the back-stamp BP-6a.
 
Second Variation – First Variation:  This variation was modelled by Amanda Hughes-Lubeck and is in the large size (18.4 cm).  It was issued in 1996 and ran until 1997 and has the back-stamp BP-6b.
 
N.B.  The back-stamp on this version reads ‘Peter “with” the Red Pocket Handkerchief.
